Do other people influence what you choose to read? When a family member recommends something, or a friend says they hated a book you were planning to read … does it affect your reading choices?
That's like telling me to judge a book by it's cover :p
But usually when someone recommends a book or says they hate a book, I might consider it, but the overall decision is pretty much my choice in whether or not I want to read it in the end.
After all... everyone has their own personal preferences... don't they? :3
How about you guys? Do other people influence your reading choices? Feel free to leave your thoughts/opinions below or link back to your BTT post! :)

Sometimes...but not friends or relatives. Here's MY BTT POST
ReplyDeleteI usually can only get recommendations from my friends who read the same age group, but almost none of my relatives. Unless I want to deal with Adult and Nonfiction books. :p

I love getting book recommendations but ultimately reading or not reading a book is my own decision.

You're right about everyone having their own preferences.

You said it right. It's like judging a book by its cover!!
ReplyDeleteI can say that people influence my reading, meaning that when I hear about a book I turn my interest to that book until I decide if I want to read it or not.
The decision is mine, but since they pointed out I will look at it and I might lose another that it could be more to my taste.

Same here. When I hear about a book all over the place, I'd want to know what the hoopla's all about for that book.

I think I rely on you too much to recommend me the latest teen reads, lol. apparently no one else but my friends give me recommendations. but then, I prefer sticking with classics.
ReplyDeleteLol, no you don't rely on me a lot. Classics isn't always horrible either. Then again... I guess I prefer retellings of classics, even though I haven't read many ;)
